2

Side-by-side chat so you can react, joke, and talk without leaving the page.

3

How to use WatchTwin

A 90-second walkthrough from install to movie night.

  1. 1

    Install the extension

Install WatchTwin from the Chrome Web Store. The WatchTwin icon will appear in your extensions bar.

  2. 2

    Open any video page

Navigate to whatever you want to watch together - YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, or any other page with a video player. WatchTwin only activates after you start a party.

  3. 3

    Pick an alias

Click the WatchTwin icon and enter a display name. This is the only identifier others in the room will see - no email or account required.

  4. 4

    Create or join a party

Choose Create Party to start a new room, Join Party to enter an existing one with a session ID, or Watch Local File to stream a video from your device.

  5. 5

    Share the session ID

Copy the session ID from the popup and send it to your friends. They paste it into Join Party to drop into the same room.

  6. 6

    Watch together

Any participant can play, pause, or seek - the rest of the room follows. Use the chat sidebar to talk in real time. Leave the room whenever you're done.

Supported sites: any web page with an HTML5 <video> element - YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, personal videos, and most embedded players. DRM-protected services (Netflix, Disney+, etc.) typically block sync. Local files can be played via the Watch Local File option and shared peer-to-peer.
